WIFO and Doggen join forces for advanced weed control

WIFO and Doggen Construction and Repair are proud to announce their collaboration aimed at optimising mechanical weed control in arable farming. This collaboration will allow the WIFO Doorgrond innovative Smart Camera Sideshift to be combined with Doggen's robust and easily adjustable weeder, resulting in a highly accurate and efficient weeding system. In addition, WIFO will take over production of the weeding machines from Doggen, optimising production capacity and availability, and the companies will work together to further innovate and develop advanced weeding technologies.

WIFO's Smart Camera Sideshift, developed in cooperation with Doorgrond, uses advanced camera technology to detect crop rows and automatically position the weeder. This enables growers to weed even closer to the crop without causing damage, making weed control more effective and less labour-intensive.

Doggen's weeding machine is characterised by a simple but well thought-out construction. The weeding elements are easily adjustable, making the machine widely applicable for different crops and row spacings. This flexibility, combined with the precision of the Smart Camera Sideshift, offers arable farmers a powerful combination for sustainable and effective weed control.
Ane de Witte, arable farmer in Pietersbierum, was one of the first to use this combined technology for his sugar beet and onion crops. He experiences the advantages of the camera-controlled sideshift in combination with the Doggen weeder: ‘From the cabin, you have less visibility of what is happening behind the tractor. It's handy that the camera takes over this and steers accordingly.’

This collaboration between WIFO and Doggen underlines their joint commitment to innovation in the agricultural sector. By optimising and simplifying mechanical weed control, they offer arable farmers the means to work more efficiently and sustainably.
